Screen Junkie

So, I just caved and bought a Yudu printer, since my Gocco printer purchase a few months ago was a bust. I've been wanting to experiment screenprinting forever, and I figured I'd take the first step. If I can print anything as cool as bee things' art prints (above), I'll be more than thrilled. Bee thing's prints are hand silkscreened on archival paper, get 'em while they're hot. |DBK

Three Potato Four

We're due for a a little eye candy this Monday morning. I love everything at Three Potato Four—an online store that sells vintage collectibles and relics. I had such a hard time picking what I wanted to post, but I think I'm satisfied. Check out more retro must-haves at Three Potato Four's website|DBK

Pitter Patter

I got caught in the rain this morning without an umbrella, so now I've got umbrellas on the brain. This one from Veer is kinda awesome. |DBK

All Lit Up

I saw this over at poppytalk and I'm pretty sure I drooled a little. You know you've always wanted an alphabet lamp shade. Screen printed by hand with individual machine stitching, this shade is available in nine different colors. Check them all out at lighting and textile designer Helen Rawlinson's online store. Max out your nerd-factor with this new typography application for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The Typography Manual features useful resources for designers, such as a visual type anatomy glossary, a font size ruler, a style guide, standard paper and web banner sizes and an em calculator, just to name a few—all right there in your back pocket. Willie's Cacao

There's something really beautiful about this packaging for Willie's Cacao. Maybe it's because the typography isjust right. Designed by Taxi Studio, a UK based company, the design reminds me of Cuban cigar packaging with its layout and the lovely mix of retro-inspired type [via Lovely Package]. |DBK

A Modern Indian Wedding

Over the last few months, I've had the pleasure of designing the wedding suite for my sister and her fiancĂ© (now husband, officially). This very stylish couple planned for a traditional Indian wedding, with a modern twist, and they wanted the wedding materials to establish the look and feel for the entire ceremony. It's always fun to modernize something traditional and create something unexpected. You can also view their engagement invitation card at my website, www.shikhasavdas.com. Congrats again to the happy couple!

A big thanks to Maddy from The Inspired Bride blog for her lovely post about the invitations. Read it here. And thanks to Shawna from Maharani Weddings for her post, too! |DBK
