Words of Inspiration

Missouri-based designer, Frank Chimero, has created a series of posters to inspire other designers. There are just a few of my favorites from the series. Wanna be inspired every day? They're for sale right here. |DBK

Love is in the Air

Anna Bond from Rifle makes the case for stepping away from the computer. She reminds me that sometimes hand drawn is simply perfect. Her invitations are whimsical and romantic —very fitting for a wedding. Thanks for the inspiration, Anna. [via heysusy] |DBK

Check Out Those Double D's

One part minimalism + one part brilliance = this awesome pair of salt and pepper shakers. Designed by Antrepo Design Industry in Turkey, these D-cell battery shaped shakers are so smart and simple. [via Lovely Package]|DBK

Straight Type

Type, 26 x 40
I just really like this poster by Hatch Show Print, one of the oldest working letterpress print shops in America.|DBK

Rubiks Cube Font Generator

My co-worker pointed me in the direction of this very clever gadget. Jas Bhachu, a student at the Liverpool School of Art & Design, has made a Rubik's Cube Font Generator. The Generator has rubber stamps on four faces of the cube, leaving two faces blank. The combined elements of the stamps create characters that can then be stamped on to any surface. What a fun idea! Thanks, MS! [via Creative Review]|DBK

Found Type Friday

I've been such a slacker about blogging this week! Maybe I can make up for it with this great website I found today—Found Type Friday. It's simply a collection of found typography from all over the world. There are some real gems in there. [via Ministry of Type|DBK

Genius Child

I think I may have to have children just so I can buy these blocks for them.

Swine on the Mind

This first print is appropriately named, “P is for Pig”. Jennifer Hillhas a lovely way of bringing letters to life and far away places into focus. These alphabet prints would be a knockout hung on any wall. Inspiring too. [via Design Sponge

Sarah King

Sarah King's typographic illustrations blow my mind. I had posted some of her work last year, but I came across her website again recently, and, man, her work is surreal. Click on the images to view larger. [via HOW Design|DBK

Cinco de Mayo

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, I'm posting a few of my favorite Mexican-inspired prints from Hammerpress. I love their sense of whimsy. |DBK

Security Envelopes, Anyone?

During these times of financial instability, the use of security envelopes by Rebecca Horwood struck a cord. A tiny brick house. Of course! It makes perfect sense. Isn’t that what we all need right now? Designed not to sell, market or promote. Designed just “because”. Stop worrying! Make stuff! [via Paper Crave] |DBK
